The LBNL and UC Berkeley engine research team was recently awarded a start-up allocation of 50,000 CPU hours on the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC). The NERSC high performance computing clusters will be used in conjunction with the ConvergeCFD software to study the interactions between fuel stratification and pre-ignition reaction chemistry in low temperature combustion (LTC) engines.
